Spring Decorating Ideas in a French Country Vintage Decor Style
Welcome to this french country spring decor tour of my historic victorian home!
In this tour, you will see how I used thrifted second-hand decor pieces to give my home a fresh french country spring look with lots of vintage items!
You can also shop my home and see what I have purchased for my home at my Amazon store front!
Vintage Hutch Decorated for Spring
Above, you’re looking into my vintage hutch and how I have it styled for spring with lots of thrifted finds! Some of the thrifted items you’ll notice in the photo have been flipped and up-cycled.
As an example, those creamy french merchant hat boxes sitting on the top shelf to the left, were found at my local antique shop and were originally maroon.
I painted them with my favorite Dixie Belle color in buttercream and used some antiquing wax to give them an authentic aged look.
I then created some realistic-looking vintage french merchant labels that I printed off and easily transferred onto the boxes. I have these available in my Etsy shop so you can recreate this DIY french country decor for your home!
French Country Living Room Spring Decor
This photo captures an overview of my French country styled living room. For spring, I have added lots of delicate florals, such as these baby’s breathe stems.
You will also see a lot cement elements, which I feel brings in an old world garden-like atmosphere. I often paint thrifted ceramic pieces to resemble weathered concrete sculptures. You can watch me do that technique in this thrift flip video on my YouTube channel.
In the distance, you can see pink blossoms, that is a magical faux wisteria tree I happened to find at Goodwill! It brings in an unexpected, whimsical moment for spring that I am loving!
If you want your own whimsical spring moment in your home, here is a similar tree at Amazon.
Here’s a different angle of my French country living room decorated for spring. I want to put your eyes on the faux thyme topiaries gracing my fireplace mantle.
Topiaries are of course very French and I love decorating with them all year, but especially for spring! I found these whispy thyme topiaries at Amazon and I absolutely love them!
Another thing you will see on my fireplace mantel are flameless candles. It took me a few tries before I finally found the perfect ones! These are a nice white and they don’t put out that orangish-yellow glow.
They are amazing and I keep buying more because you just can’t have too much ambiance in your home! You can find these exact flameless candles at Amazon.
